I do however think it was a little abstract to be taken 100% as a joke. And then when some contributors tried to belittle those who thoguht it was 'distasteful' I had to disagree. When a subject will provoke very strong feelings on both sides of the fence, it's sometimes better not to use it as fuel for a joke. Certainly not unless your going to make it 'VERY' obvious its a joke. If its open to interpretation at all, it will 'upset' some people. thats all. IP: Logged

It was the trip to the Waterford match (with friends) which I had remembered. Hardly sat well with Ed Case's 'story.' I will add though that although this particular story is crap, depression is a very serious illness and is no joking matter. But Ed Case is either massively exagerating or else making it up. Nomad, it was much too outlandish (the money thing, the homeless girl thing, the women's magazines thing etc) and it was also different from his normal writing style. As a journalist you tend to notice differences in people's syntax, spelling, punctuation etc. It smelled all wrong from the word go.
