               and for 42 years
     the faithful vicar of this parish
           A distinguished scholar
            an eloquent preacher
         He was universally beloved
                and respected
     by all classes of his parishioners
         He died the 30th of March 1823
           in the 86 year of his age
             Beside his remains
                rest those of 
                Anne his wife
        daughter of Henry Ellis Esquire,
           of Prospect Carrickfergus
      a sincere follower of the Lord Jesus
She departed this life on the 5th September 1819
           in the 76 years of her age
