THE STORY

Longtime friends and gang members Gino, Jimmy and Mickey pull off a bank heist which goes horribly wrong resulting in the death of a young policewoman, and the public unmasking of their youngest member  Mickey. The public outrage which follows results in one of the biggest manhunts in years. With the police closing in on the gang, and pressure mounting within, Gino and Jimmy make plans to rid themselves of an unsuspecting Mickey, now a liability.

But is something else stalking them? Something dark? Something sinister?

THE HISTORY

Underworld, written, and directed by Ronan Gallagher  received a rare, national theatrical release in Ireland through Buena Vista as support to Michael Crichton's 13th Warrior and took second prize in the audience voted Best First Short Film category at the Galway Film Festival. The film qualified for the Kodak sponsored 'Oscar Run' and was also screened at the Dublin, Cork, and Belfast film festivals. 

The film also had US screenings at the Irish Reels film festival in Seattle and the Laemmle Theatre, Hollywood. Underworld was also broadcast twice on RTE Irish national TV, which, if added to its cinema release, means that over 60,000 people have seen Underworld already.
