"Quiet Man" bridge. This bridge links us to the main road. It is a major tourist attraction, since it featured in the film "The Quiet Man", shot in this area in 1951. The film starred Maureen O'Hara and John Wayne, and is regarded as one of the top 100 films ever made. Americans and Japanese tourists by the busload stop to photograph it. Local wags say they are being conned: so many stones have been taken overseas as trophies that the bridge must have been rebuilt at least three times!
