Return to Learning/Education (Evening)

Short courses on returning to education and learning are available at the College of Commerce and the Cork Institute of Technology. The course aims to encourage adults to return to Lifelong Learning and to prepare them for the difficulties which they may encounter. The course assumes that the adult student has left the education system for a number year and thus will have special needs and requirements to enable them to cope with the transition into study.

Essay and Report Writing, Personal Development Skills
Community Skills Career Guidance and Interview Technique
Identification of Interests and Talents

Return to Work (Evening)

This evening programme is specially designed for unemployed persons, male and female, who wish to update their skills in modern office technology and procedures.

Venue: College of Commerce.
Duration: 20 weeks
The course content: Typewriting...Computer Application...Word Processing...Communications...Telephone Technique...Interview Preparation...Book-keeping

New Opportunities for Women (Daytime)

The NOW Programme began as a European funded course which aims to encourage women to continue/return to education. You are encouraged to avail of the Guidance and Advisory Service should you wish to explore your options.

Venue: Cork Institute of Technology, Bishopstown. Tel: 021-/326425/434/531.

Duration:It is a part time course for one academic year, Monday to Friday, 9.30a.m.-1,30p.m.

Entry requirement: A leaving Certificate is desirable but not essential and no prior knowledge of subjects is assumed.
