Cork Airport to the Pink House In Eyeries
1.Turn LEFT on leaving Cork Airport down to the
KINSALE ROUNDABOUT approx. 2 miles
2. Take the N25 SOUTH RING WEST exit for approx 1.5
miles to the SARSFIELD ROAD ROUNDABOUT
3. At this roundabout take the N71 exit marked WILTON
and continue straight over the next roundabout at
WILTON SHOPPING CENTRE
4. Turn LEFT into the MODEL FARM ROAD at the next
major junction (Dennehy's Cross)
5. After about 3.5 miles you come to a big roundabout
on the edge of BALLINCOLLIG Town. Take the N22 exit.
Go through BALLINCOLLIG on the N22 towards Killarney
6. About 9.5 miles after leaving BALLINCOLLIG take a
LEFT turn, the N71 for BANTRY
7. About 1.5 miles later take a LEFT turn at CLIFFORDS
BAR for BANTRY
8. When the road forks at BEAL NA mBALTH garage take
the RIGHT fork.
9. 10.5 miles later turn RIGHT for BANTRY (easy to
miss so be careful !!!)
10. After approx 15 miles you come to a Yield Right of
Way sign, and continue straight on passing the
Graceland Guest House
11. Approx 2.5 miles later turn RIGHT on the N71 to
GLENGARRIFF
12. Go through GLENGARRIFF to the end of the
village,taking the LEFT fork for CASTLETOWNBERE, which
is approx. 20 miles further on.
13. When you get to CASTLETOWNBERE, take a RIGHT at
Super Value for Eyeries (4.5 miles)
14. When you get to the sign for Eyeries Village (on
your left opposite Coulagh Bay House) DO NOT TURN LEFT
TO THE VILLAGE, instead keep straight on for approx
half a mile, to FORMANES HOUSE (there is a large red
and gold sign on the right ) and there you will
collect the keys from Rosarie O' Neill (tel : 027
74360)
*This is the shortest route from Cork Airport to the
Pink House (approx. 80 miles), and should take about
two and a half hours to three hours. Glengarriff is a
good place to stop for coffee....you're about 45
minutes from Eyeries once you get there. BE CAREFUL
once you turn off on the N71 (no 6 above ) as the road
is really twisty with lots of blind corners and mad
drivers sometimes, and doesn't really get good again
until no. 11. The scenery more than makes up for it
though...good luck!!!
If you would prefer to go on more major roads the
following route from the Airport is best:
Cork Airport to the Pink House In Eyeries via Bandon *
1. Turn RIGHT from the Airport and take the N71 to
Bandon.
2. From Bandon take the R586 via Dunmanway and
Drimoleague to Bantry.
3. From Bantry rejoin the N71 and pass the village of
Ballylickey, heading in the direction of Glengarriff.
4. Go through GLENGARRIFF to the end of the
village,taking the LEFT fork for CASTLETOWNBERE, which
is approx. 20 miles further on.
5. When you get to CASTLETOWNBERE, take a RIGHT at
Super Value for Eyeries (4.5 miles)
6.. When you get to the sign for Eyeries Village (on
your left opposite Coulagh Bay House) DO NOT TURN LEFT
TO THE VILLAGE, instead keep straight on for approx

depending on traffic), but the roads are good and not
as mountainous as route 1.
Ringaskiddy Ferryport to the Pink House in Eyeries
1.Exit the Ferryport and turn RIGHT taking the N28
marked ALL ROUTES
2. At the 3rd ROUNDABOUT (about 3.5 miles later)again
take the N28 marked CITY CENTRE and ALL ROUTES
3. After approx.4 miles take the N25 SOUTH RING ROAD
marked WEST
4.Two miles later you come to the KINSALE ROUNDABOUT
and you take the N25 SOUTH RING WEST exit for approx
1.5
miles to the SARSFIELD ROAD ROUNDABOUT
5. At this roundabout take the N71 exit marked WILTON
and continue straight over the next roundabout at
WILTON SHOPPING CENTRE
6. Turn LEFT into the MODEL FARM ROAD at the next
major junction (Dennehy's Cross)

Pearson's Bridge Village
13. Approx 2.5 miles later turn RIGHT on the N71 to
GLENGARRIFF
14. Go through GLENGARRIFF to the end of the
village,taking the LEFT fork for CASTLETOWNBERE, which
is approx. 20 miles.
15. When you get to CASTLETOWNBERE, take a RIGHT at
Super Value for Eyeries (4.5 miles)
16. When you get to the sign for Eyeries Village (on
your left opposite Coulagh Bay House) DO NOT TURN
LEFT, but carry on straight for about .5 of a mile
until you see a red and gold sign for FORMANES HOUSE
on your right, where Rosaire O' Neill (027 74360) will
give you the keys to the Pink House.
* The trip is about 90 miles or so from the
Ferryport,and should take about 3 hours (including a
coffee in say Glengarriff). DO BE CAREFUL once you
turn off on the N71 (no 8 above )as the road is really
twisty with lots of blind corners and mad drivers
sometimes, and doesn't really get good again until
no.13. The scenery more than makes up for it
though...good luck!!!
If you would prefer to use more main roads, the best
way would be** to go from
1. Cork on the N71 to Bandon.
2. From Bandon take the R586 via Dunmanway and
Drimoleague to Bantry.
3. From Bantry rejoin the N71 and pass the village of
