Under 11 Football
Hi we are Patrice and Emma and we were on the Allenwood under 11 school football team. The first team that we played was Kildare town and we beat them by miles! It was an awful day!The second team that we played was Caragh we beat them too, the weather had no change. When we got into the quarter finals we played against Derrinturn. We also beat them and there was a change of weather. It was lovely. In the semi finals we played Crookstown but unfortunately we had a change of luck and they beat us and got into the finals. We had a brilliant team and they were Emma, Patrice, Sinead S, Michelle S, Jessie, Nicole, Mikeala, Amy H, Aoibhinn, Simone, Juliann, Sinead K, Clodagh, Aisling, Denise and last but not least Emma D. We were trained and managed by Miss O Meara.
Senior basketball
This years basketball team had their first match on Wednesday. They had a victorious win against Rathangan, by 44 baskets. The team was Rebecca Donoghue, Tara Higgins, Eireann Donoghue, Sinead Crowe, Niamh Quinn. There were 3 substitutes and they were Sarah Jane Kennedy, Sarah Kelly and Patrice Moore. The team and subs would like to say a big thank you to Miss Murphy our coach for putting up with us because we are a wild bunch. We hope that we have the same luck as Wednesday! So far we have won most of our matches except for two against Ballysax. Unfortunately we are out of the finals but we may have better luck in the blitz coming up soon, so we are ready for anything now. Every Tuesday there is basketball training after school. That's all our energy soaked up so that's all folks.
Bye Bye, By Rebecca D and Sarah Jane.

CROKE PARK
On the 4th of September 2005 Niamh Quinn and Tara Higgins were 2 of 20 people picked to play in Croke Park at half time. When Miss O'Meara came in and told us that we were 2 of 20 people to play in Croke Park that day we were so happy that we had the chance to play in Croke Park. When the day came we could not eat and sleep the night before. As we entered the gates into the college where we were told to go on the day, we knew that this was a once in a life time opportunity. When we went into the college we were told that we were on the Armagh team and we had to go over and get our chips and nuggets. We went over and got our chips but we felt sick and did not eat. We were then given a photo shoot and after the photo shoot we were on our way to Croke Park. We had to walk when we got there. We were supplied with fanta orange and a mars bar. When the time came we had to go through a big tunnel and when we stepped on the pitch we had to march with the band. When the girl said go, we had to run to our places. When she said go we ran to our places and then the game began. At the end of the day Niamh scored 2 points and Tara scored 2 goals and 1 point. We would like to thank Miss O'Meara for giving us this chance and Allenwood school and the mini sevens.

Allenwood Girls go to the Gaiety
On the 24th of January Allenwood G.N.S went on a school trip to the Gaiety Theatre, to see Aladdin. George McMahan (Mondo out of Fair City) was the star of the show. The junior classes found the trip exciting and enjoyable. However the sixth class students were sad to leave the experience behind. One Allenwood student expressed her feelings for Mondo (for legal reasons we are prohibited to mention her name.) The star of the show probably pretended not to hear her but she will be remembered by him. The play went on for 2 hours approximately. There was an interval during the play. It was a great performance from the plot twists to the singing and dancing to when the audience stood up and learned this years song and moves.

Our trip to the Helix
On the 6/02/06 sixth, fifth and fourth classes went to the Helix to see Music in the Classroom performed by the RTE Concert Orchestra . They played many tunes like Mission Impossible, Muppets, Lord of the Dance and many more .To go with most of the tunes they had ballet dancers that would dance to the music and there was a story about Tubby the tuba.
