About Alopecia Ireland

logoAlopecia Ireland was set up in 2004. The main aims of Alopecia Ireland are to provide support for those with alopecia and their families and to promote the awareness of alopecia in Ireland.

Sarah, founder of Alopecia Ireland: "I'm a twenty year old Student Nurse from Cork with Alopecia Universalis. I was first diagnosed three years ago. At present I am dealing with my third re-occurrence of Alopecia Areata.  I've lost all my scalp hair and all of the hair elsewhere on my body. I set up this page so that I could share my experiences and offer support and information to othe 'Alopecians'. Whether you are an old hand with this Alopecia stuff or newly diagnosed, you will understand the enormous psychological effects that Alopecia has on a person. I'm here to say that you are not alone! I know what you're going through and a lot of others do too!"
