training
Does this ministry interest you?
Our two year training programme is primarily an experiential programme in redemptive listening which means listening to our deepest self, to others, and ultimately to The Divine's influence in our lives. The theoretical aspects of the programme include the study and practice of basic psychology, theology, and spirituality. Based on Ignatian spirituality, the Anamcharadas Initial Training Programme is created to facilitate many aspects of the spirituality required to meet the demands of the 21st century.
Time commitment
Two years, divided into 16 training weekends.
At the end of the first year, participants will be assessed as to their suitability to go on to the second year. We strongly recommended that each participant take part in a 6 or 8 day directed retreat , as part of your discernment process as to your suitability for this ministry.
You could do this course if:
You and the training team feel that you have life experience, and spiritual/emotional history which reflects an ongoing response to your relationship with yourself, others and with your God.
You are taking your own inner journey, prayer life and your search for God seriously.
Preferably if you have had some sort of spiritual companioning and/or retreat experience.
You have a real desire to work with others as a Spiritual Companion.
You are willing to commit yourself to the full training programme and your application is accepted by the team.
You have a real interest in working with others in the spirit of Anamcharadas.
