About Us

We, being the Holmes family, are located in the village of Doohoma in north-west Mayo, about 15 miles from Belmullet and 38 miles from Ballina. Doohoma is a very little-known part of the west of Ireland, and for that reason, yet unspoilt and un-polluted. The Holmes family have lived in the village for more that 100 years. Eamonn Holmes established the pub in 1961, later in 1974 he also established Eagle Isle Seafoods Ltd, a smokery that produces the best smoked salmon in the world according to many! Then in 1998 he added the restaurant area onto the existing pub building.
Eamonn passed away in 2001 and the business is now run by his wife Breda and remaining family.
