Egyptian - 3000 - 332 B.C. - Art in ancient Egypt was highly
stylised with the lotus playing an important part

Greek/Roman 600-146 B.C. -.. while flowers and foliage played
an important part they were mainly used in the making of wreaths
and garlands.

.............Chinese 960 - 1912 A.D. In Chinese homes flowers
in vases and dwarfed trees (bonsai) in pots have been used
for generations, and have played an important part in Chinese
culture.

Italian Renaissance 1400-1600 - Art belonged primarily to the
church at the start of this period. Renaissance or re-birth
the revival & flowering of art & letters after the dark
ages. Man became important in his own right and flowers were
used in art other than church art.

Victorian 1830 - 1901
Flowers were used anuwhere and everywhere, glass domes with
dried flowers were also popular. laces and velvets and cluttered
rooms were the order of the day.

fluid and sinuous lines with the famous whiplash style were
evident in decor and in flower decorations.
