About Cyprus and People

Aphrodite Beach where we will stay is situated on the Akamas Peninsula near the Akamas Forest, which is environmentally protected and uninhabited. It is an area of great scenic beauty and an ideal place to walk, with many well-marked trails.

Locals are warm and friendly and only too happy to answer questions about their area. The nearest village is Latchi - approx 3km away - which has a small and busy harbour where many tavernas offering varied Cypriot cuisine are situated at the waters edge.


Climate

The holiday dates have been carefully chosen to synchronise with the full moon. Full moon in Cyprus has to be seen to be believed…..! At this time of the year the weather is warm and comfortable 25º - 30º during the day cooling down at night. Clear skies, clean air and lack of humidity make this one of the loveliest climates in the Mediterranean.

Currency

Local currency is Cypriot £'s (CY£10 = approx €18). It is advisable to take Cypriot currency. The nearby town of Polis is well served with ATM machines.
