Unlike the other four monuments near Mitchelstown, this one is north of the town. One mile from the turn-off for Limerick, as you to towards Dublin, is Corracunna cross. There are two memorials here, but the left-hand one is a memorial to two victims of the British Army.

23rd July 1962 was a Monday
The inscription on this monument reads: 
'In rememberance of 
Tom McDonnell aged 25 years 
and Dan McGrath aged 17 years, 
innocent victims who were shot dead at this place 
-- Corracunna Cross -- 
by British soldiers on 21st July 1920.
