INSIGHT
Magazine's Focus and Ethos
INSIGHT's focus is Irish heritage
and culture both past and present. We particularly welcome
contributions covering Ireland's archaeology, history,
language and arts. Contributions outside of our core focus
are welcome especially where they link the past with the
present and vice versa. Heritage after all does not exist in
a vacuum. Alongside stand-alone traditional studies we hope
the published contributions within INSIGHT will justify its
subtitle - New Perspectives in Irish Studies. To get a
flavour of our potential subject areas and the inclusive
manner in which they are undertaken, discussed and moderated
why not visit the discussion lists that sparked the launch
of this magazine itself. Links to these appear at the foot
of every published article.
We
welcome contributions from intending writers and help in
running the magazine from all individuals regardless of
gender, religion, social background, geographical location
or sexual orientation. Be free to contact us should you wish
to contribute material or practical help, we'd like to hear
from you. Whilst we advocate a philosophy of tolerance and
understanding wewill not welcome nor will we publish
contributions that we, as editors, consider to be sexist,
racist, doctrinaire or bigoted. Be free to contact us should
you wish to contribute material or practical help, we'd like
to hear from you.
Actual
contributions are vetted by a review panel to ensure that
published material will be the result of scholarly endeavour
and presented as such, not as individual promulgations or
partisan rants and raves. In other words if a submission is
well researched, coherently presented and cogently argued
complete with a supporting bibliography and/or footnotes it
stands every chance of being published. Internet compatible
audio and visual Illustrations are encouraged. Contributors
need not be formally qualified since each contribution will
be evaluated on its merits and not on where it originated.
We aim to nurture and encourage all intending contributors
and those offering practical help. Information links for
every aspect of the magazine will be found inside, please
feel free to get in touch. Above all else, read on and enjoy
!
