Currency Information
From January 1st 2002, the following European Countries (Ireland, Germany,
France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg, Austria, and
Finland) are changing their currency to the New Euro and Cent.
The symbol for this currency is € and its notes will
have the same appearance in all Countries. The coins will have some difference
in appearance in each country, but both are useable across all Countries listed
above, without need of exchange, or risk of fluctuation in value.
The old Currencies like the Irish Pound(Punt, £IR) become extinct, and
have a fixed changeover rate to the Euro €, for example 1£IR=
€1.27 cent.
Obviously currencies outside the € like the US $,
British £, etc will still fluctuate against it, on a
daily basis.
