Acrostic Poems

An acrostic poem is a poem where the first letter of each line spells out the name of the poem or the subject of the poem. Here are poems  that Martin and John wrote. They were inspired by the Tangram pictures that they made.

ROCKET

Rising up to rattle in a rickety rocket,
Oh how the their planets look out of this world.
Could I cry out to the world?
Kicking my legs and shouting "Boil the kettle,
                  I'm coming home!"
Every second of every day I think,
To myself, "Why didn't I keep my feet on the
                                          ground?"

TOWER

Tall tower on top of the hill
Overlooks the orbit of the moon.
Wind whirls wildly in the steeple,
Even on a calm day.
Rain clouds hide the roof in mist.
