In 2000 Arklow Gymnasts represented Ireland in the Celtic cup.

Four of Arklow top gymnasts who were also part of our bronze medalists in Mosney, represented Arklow in the regional trials for the national team. They were Neill Brauders, Stephanie Dowling and Sara Kenny, Joy Redmond.

Neill and Stephanie finished second overall while Sara and Joy won.

The Celtic Cup was held in Glasgow on the 5th of November 2000.

In Glasgow Sara and Joy did us, themselves and their country proud. They scored 8.65 and their score counted towards the overall Irish score.

The purchase of a tumbling track last November made a big difference to the 21 Arklow Community Games Gymnasts who excelled in their tumbling performances at the South East Regional Championships in Wexford last month.

They were rewarded for all their hard work in training with the magnificent haul of 15 medals. 7 Arklow gymnasts will represent the South East region at the upcoming National Championships.
