Ways of using aromatherapy & essential oils                  

Safety Notice

 

 

In a Burner: Fill the bowl with water, add three or four drops of your chosen oils and light the nightlight candle.  Alternatively you could use an electrical burner. 

 

Different oils are used for different problems.  If you are unsure as to which oils to use please contact me.  

 

 

 

 

In a Bath: Blend three or four drops of chosen oils with either a little milk or alcohol (e.g. vodka).  Put into the bath just before you get in and have a pleasant soak.  For children blend either one or two drops of chamomile or lavender only with milk.

 

 

 

 

In Creams or Oils: Essential Oil should always be diluted when being used on the skin, (although it is safe to use Lavender and Tea Tree Oil neat).  Blends with creams/oils can be created using a non perfumed cream/oil.  Generally three drops per teaspoon of oil/cream is recommended.  Or use 5 drops of essential oil in 20mls of carrier oil such as a light vegetable oil like grapeseed oil, almond oil or Aroma-Clear Non-Spoil Professional Base (does not stain clothes, pillows etc. Contact me at aromaki@eircom.net for this oil).

 

 

Safety Notice:

If pregnant, epileptic or suffering from high blood pressure it is advisable to consult a professional aromatherapist before using essential oils.    

  1. Do not take internally

  2. Keep out of the reach of children

  3. Store in a cool place

  4. Do not use undiluted on the skin, with the exception of lavender, camomile and tea tree which can be used sparingly

  5. In a bath use no more than 4 or 5 drops of essential oils (diluted in either a little milk or vodka).  If for a child one or two drops of camomile or lavender only

  6. To make a massage oil, use 3 drops of essential oil in 5mls of carrier oil such as a light vegetable oil like grapeseed oil, almond oil or Aroma-Clear Non-Spoil Professional Base (does not stain clothes, pillows etc.  Contact me for this oil).
