Feohanagh National School
The National school was built in 1886, and the first teacher who taught in the school was Michael o' Callaghan before he moved to Castlemahon. He was succeeded by James O' Kelly and other later teachers were James Kelly (Junior) Patrick Reidy, Dan Nash, James Conway. The school closed in 1970, with a big loss to Feohanagh and is used today as a community centre. |
Feohanagh Post Office
Feohanagh Post Office was opened in 1877-1879. It may also be found under An Fheothanach and Feochanach. On the 31st May 2001 Walshes Post Office opened for the last time and Pauline Walshe retired. |
Feohanagh Hall
The old Feohanagh hall was built and opened in 1941. The hall office was built in 1950. Dances were held in the hall up until twenty years ago, and in the 40's and 50's it was a great place for entertainment and social events.On regular occassions people took part in drama groups, concerts and plays. Also the F.C.A. held meetings in this hall To this day people have alot of memories of Feohanagh hall. |
