Templeglantine today is a picturesque village with strong community spirit in west Limerick between Newcastle West and Abbeyfeale on the N21 Limerick to Killarney Road. Since the establishment of the popular Devon Inn Hotel, the village has become a popular tourist stop for travellers and buses alike. There is a  wide choice of sporting clubs available, the countryside itself lends itself to other activities, such as Horse Riding, Fishing, Shooting and Walking. From the very young to those young at heart.

There are many hills in the Templeglantine area from which magnificent views can be obtained. One such view is that of the Barnagh Gap, Limerick Co. Council have provided a viewing roadside platform for people to absorb this magnificent view.

Also the sight of Rathcahill Hill has been celebrated in a song:

You can view Kilmallock steeple and the houses white in Clare,
And along the golden skyline you can view Tipperary fair,
The towering Reeks of Kerry are a finer scenery still,
You can view them all at leisure from dear Rathcahill Hill

Fleadh by the Feale

Also there is the annual "Fleadh by the Feale" festival which has become a huge success and has put Abbeyfeale and the surrounding areas on the map in a traditonal and cultural sense.

Abbeyfeale hosted two very successful County Limerick Fleadh Cheoils in the early nineties. The organising committee were so pleased with their endeavours that they decided to establish their own Fleadh. The introduction of the May Bank Holiday weekend provided the perfect date and so the Fleadh By The Feale was born. That was in 1995 and over the years this Fleadh has become one of the most successful traditional festivals in the region, attracting traditional music lovers from all over Ireland and further afield.

The primary focus of the weekend is traditional music, song and dance. The festival is built around the master workshops and competitions and the richness of the traditional talent in the area. These workshops are designed to improve the technique and skill of the musicians and give participants an insight into different styles of music from different parts of the country. Outdoor activities include street busking, Traditional entertainment and the all-Ireland bone playing competition.

The pub trail is an important part of the weekend attracting the cream of traditional musicians who delight and entertain their audiences. The highlight of the festival has to be the Sunday traditional concert. In the early years the tutors and a host of local musicians gathered for the concert. In recent years international performing groups such as: Dervish 1997, Altan 1998, four men and a dog 1999, At the Racket plus Jackie Daly, Maura O' Keeffe, Paul De Grae, Tony O' Connell, Diarmuid o Brien and Kevin Murphy 2000 and Dervish, Planxty O' Rourke in 2001have graced the stage.Other related evens include, a children's art competition and exhibition along with lectures with a local history and cultural theme. The Abbeyfeale May bank holiday weekend has become synonymous with traditional music and culture.
