HALLA TADGH GAELACH

The new parish hall is located in the centre of the village and is state of the art. It includes a large main hall with maple floors, two conference rooms , a kitchen, bathroom facilities and an old style Teach Siamsa complete with stone walls, an open fire and also a kitchen.

The project was a huge undertaking and credit is due to the committee members who helped make it possible. Funds came from various grants as well as from the parishioners who dutifully paid envelopes every week for the duration of the project. Labour was supplied by FAS under the supervision of Pat Harnett.

In the time the hall has been opened it has proved to be an excellent facility. Music & dancing classes, card games, ceilis, committee meetings, various parish functions including the senior citizens party and the race night fundraiser for the school have been held here.

The Teach Siamsa was the ideal location for music recitals during the parish feile ceoil where the audience had all the comforts of home-an intimate setting, a blazing open fire and a cup of tea or glass of wine!

The hall, one of the finest in the Munster area, recently received an award from West Limerick Resources. It is without a doubt an enormous achievement for a parish this size and what name would be more appropriate than that of one of our most famous parishioners, Tadgh Gaelach O'Suilleabhain?
