TOURNAFULLA TAY

Michael D. Ryan.

I speak to you a special poem of a very special brew

It’s made in a very special place

Well-known to me and you

‘Twas there I spent some happy nights

Of song and laughter gay

‘Twas there I drank fourteen full cups

Of Tournafulla Tay.

I met with Jackie Sullivan

He took me by the hand

Says he “Come in for a cup of chaa

‘Tis the finest in the land”

With Corbett, Woulfe and Kennedy

We spoke of the G.A.A

And my heart was captivated

With the Tournafulla Tay.

This famous drink would break up wind

And ease your tonsillitis

Cure boils and warts of every sort

Lumbago and arthritis

And if your heart is heavy

You can chase your cares away

With spuds and  yellow bacon

And Tournafulla Tay.

You can use it as a medicine

Or as an embrocation

I think it should be bottled

And sold throughout the Nation

Alcoholics Anonymous

Could close their doors to day

If we drank enough of that famous stuff

Called Tournafulla Tay.
