TOURS U-12’S DOUBLE SUCCESS
-By Johnny Walsh.
A unique achievement for Tour in the County of Mayo
Winning All-Ireland glory 2nd year in a row
In the aftermath celebrations all did happily join
For the boys who numbered seven and the girls who numbered nine
Jessie from Dromtrasna played with zeal and flair
Sinéad magical, melodic, representing Knockanaire
Eimear from Gortnaskeha celebrated all night
While Knockaderry’s William Guiry roared with delight
Padraig on the banjo, King of Knocknasna
Susan will ne’er forget that day in Ballina
Joanne and Melissa played to beat the band
One queen from Knocknadiha, The other queen from Strand
Karen and Susan smiled in joyful glee
Shouting together “Up Broadford and Killeedy”
Patricia said for her it was a heavenly dream
While Martha savored sweet success for lovely Killaculleen
The bonfires blazed, the crowd amazed, Helen did sweetly sing
A great weekend for sweet dear Tour
A personal triumph for Michael King
Martin and David on the accordions were great
Gerard on the tin whistle delighted with their fate
That great success we’ll savor, for Tour’s tradition
Fulfilling and rekindling the U-12’s ambition
May those geniuses continue to display their talents more
Giving great enjoyment to the people in the country o’er and o’er
Congratulations and well done again a unique double for sure
You’re forever in the Annals and the history of Tour.
