Elephants have great memories. Ever heard of the old saying "Elephants never forget!!!"

Elephants do have feelings. They do cry and mourn the death of a baby calf or member of the clan. So, be nice!

As I have stated before elephants have a very keen sensitive nature and so if a young calf is sick or in trouble, they will rally around to comfort or rescue the baby elephant, whatever the case may be.

The oldest and most experienced female elephant within the herd is the matriarch and she rules the family. The matriarch takes her responsibility as leader within the clan very seriously, so much so, she will put her own life at risk in order to protect or defend her family.

Elephant in latin (as ele and phant) means the Huge Arch. In the Greek language, elephos represents an antlered beast or stag.
