Folk Art

Folk Art dates back to the 15th century, it was practised by the « Bauernmalerei » or Farmer Folk to decorate their furniture in imitation of the fine furniture of the period.
As designs and techniques became more complicated, the art was increasingly practised by specialists like the cabinet maker or furniture maker.
