Ballina Colts defeated the home team
Castlebar bulls at An Sportlann,
Castlebar on Friday night. In a close and
exciting game Castlebar lead 6-3 at the
end of the first quarter with Daire
Conway scoring five free throws.
Castlebar lead 15-10 at the break with
John Flatley and Aidan O Shea scoring for
the home side. Ballina replied with
scores from Rory Smith. In the third
Ballina closed the lead to one point with
scores from Keith Harrision and Barry
Powell. In the final quarter the two
teams scored basket for basket, but up
popped Martin Harrison to score the
winning basket for Ballina. Best for
Ballina were Keith Harrison, Barry Powell
and Rory Smith . Castlebar had good
displays from Daire Conway, John Flatley
and Aidan O Shea.
