Grounds
Gortnaclough
Ballinhassig are currently developing
a new complex on a 7.2 acre site at Gortnaclough. The project
will include 2 full size pitches, a 40m X 60m floodlit training
area, dressing rooms, and a car park. Currently the 2 pitches
have been laid out by bulldozer, trees have been planted on the
boundary and drains are being laid. Also The first training sessions
were held on the grounds while Crossbarry was closed in August,
2001.
Directions:
From Cork City, drive on the main Bandon road (N71) until you
reach the Halfway roundabout (the first roundabout after leaving
Cork City). Turn right at the roundabout, across the bridge, and
then turn left. Take the first (and only) right turn which is
signposted for Ballinhassig Soccer Club and Barry O'Halloran Fitted
Kitchens. Follow this road about a mile and a half to the top
of the hill. The pitch will be on the lefthand side.
It is anticipated that Ballinhassig
will play our first season in the new grounds in the 2002-2003
season. Watch this and the news sections for the latest updates
on the development. The web master is currently working on a 360
degree "Virtual Reality" picture for this page.
