As
this was a special year our Region decided to go on camp together.
6 Scout Troops included Ballinlough made up the 135 people on the 3

Switzerland.
The Camp was action packed and included activities, hikes, tours and some of the most spectacular views that we have even seen. This was our troops second trip to Kandersteg having visited the centre for our annual camp in 1998 also. Activities during the 2 week event inlcuded, River Rafting, Climbing Walls, Swimming, Cable Car Trips, Campfires, Glacier Hike and bus tours finishing it all off with a day in Disneyland Paris. Tours were to Lucern where we visited the Transport Museum, it was enormours and dealt with al manner of communications old and new including a rotated Tower of 50 TV's and a train section with different types of trains (we're not talking model here either!) We also visitied Trumbellbach Falls - a waterfall inside a mountain and the nearby town of Interlaken. Hike included a walk alonmg the Gemi Pass where we had a snowball fight and got sunburnt ! and cable car trip to Ocennesse whihc included a dip in a glacier lake for those brave enough to try it. Disneyland Paris was also a popular stop and we spent a whole day there on the way back home. |
