ALL IRELAND HURLING TROPHY 2005

On the 10th October 2005 we had a surprise visit from John Gardiner and Ronan McGregor, two Cork hurlers. They brought the Liam McCarthy cup with them and gave a great day.

They came to the hall and talked to the children. They signed jerseys , hurleys and all sorts and gave sound advice to the pupils on how to be successful in sport.

We hope that their words of advice will go along way and be remembered by all our young hurling and camogie players.

On entering the hall the two players were greeted with rapturous cheers and applause. Ronan compared the noise similar to the noise he experienced when coning through the tunnel on to the pitch in Croke Park!!

The teachers also were enthusiastic about the visit and were keen to get their hands on the cup.
We thank the two hurling heroes for their time and interest. Let us hope they are back next year with three in a row!
