Streamscapes.

On 14th June Stephanie from Streamscapes in Bantry came to visit us. She discusssed plants and river life as well as pollution and other issues related to streams and rivers. Later on in the morning we went to our local stream to collect specimens to bring back and examine.

The class went about their task with gusto and netted fish, larvae and insects etc. to bring back to the classroom.

Even where the water was only inches deep Stephanie expained to the class that evidence of stream life could be found.
Stephanie was like an encyclopedia when it came to listing out the different creatures.

It was probably the hottest day of the year and we were all glad to paddle in the nice cool stream that flows behind our school.
