Lough Corrib |
Affectionately known as The Corrib, you can walk out your
front gate to a private pier where you can swim, fish and go boating. Ballycurrin Bay is famed for it’s large trout stocks. In July 2002 a 23lb trout was caught, one of the biggest ever on the lake! Fish also for salmon, pike and perch. Take a walk along the lake front to Ballycurrin lighthouse
and Ballycurrin Demesne. Lough Corrib is a vast lake of 41,600 acres. It is mostly
shallows and contains 365 islands. For the fisherman, the water is very clear
and it holds a good stock of trout which average over 1lb. |

Cong & Ashford Castle |
Cong is one of Irelands most unique towns, and popular
destination for genuine holidays in Ireland. Cong, nestles on the shores of
Lough Corrib - a true gateway to Connemara, and is home to Ashford Castle. It
offers a wealth of history and unspoilt natural beauty that once seen is
never forgotten. A

Galway City |
Galway City speaks for itself with excellent nightlife,
shopping, restaurants and bars.
Wander around Eyre Square, the Mediaeval Walls or Galway Cathedral. Galway
Irish Crystal - This timeless tradition of creativity and craftsmanship can
be experienced at the Galway Irish Crystal Heritage Centre. Visit the Crystal
Showrooms where the complete Galway Irish Crystal range displayed is a must. Salthill
in Galway boasts a leisure centre and swimming pool. In July and August both the famous Galway Races take place
as well as the Galway Arts Festival. |

Connemara |

Twelve Bens mountain range in the north through lake-rich Roundstone Bog to
the golden beaches reaching out into the Atlantic Ocean, you'll know you're
in Connemara by the light that constantly changes the mood and tone of the

Aran Islands |
No visit to the west of Ireland would be complete without
a visit to the Aran Islands. Fly or
take the ferry from Galway or Rossaveal. |

Lough Mask |
Lough Mask is a large limestone lough of 22,000 acres immediately
north of the Corrib. It has an excellent stock of wild brown trout averaging
over 1lb, with many over 3lb. Every year, many specimen trout weighing over
10lb are taken on the troll. Although primarily a game fishery , it also
holds pike and perch. Under normal conditions, the Mayfly season is best from
May 20th to June 12th. Nearest towns are Castlebar,
Claremorris, Ballinrobe and Westport. Villages near the lake include Clonbur,
Cong, Cross, Finny, Partry, and Tourmakeady. The Atlantic coast, at Westport,
is just 12 miles away. Knock airport is 25 miles, Shannon Airport 80 miles
and Galway airport 30 miles. |

Wildlife |
There is an abundance of wildlife in Ballycurrin Bay
including birds and hawks, otters, mink, stoat, frogs, bats and much more.
The “Dawn Chorus” in early spring is spectacular to listen to. Catch and go fishing with the famous
Mayfly. Watch the swifts and swallows
ducking and diving across the lake throughout the summer months. |

beneath the wild blanket bogland on the dramatic North Mayo coast is a 5,000
year old Stone Age landscape of stonewalled fields, dwellings and megalithic
tombs. The Ceide Fields are definitely worth a visit along with the visitor
centre which will explain the many facets of the Ceide Fields. |
