Community Games.
Ballymacelligott Parish was represented by four handball teams at the Community Games Munster Finals.
The girls U13 team beat Limerick to go forward to the regional finals in Mosney at the end of August
.The team was : Sandy McSwiney(Captain), Amanda Culloty, Christina O Keeffee, Emma Fleming, Ciara Moriarty and Ashley Prendiville. The girls U15 team also won their Munster Final match against Clare to go forward to the regional finals. The team was: Katherine Reidy(Captain), Maria Daly, Karen Culloty, Ashling Da Lacey, Denise O Keeffe and Fiona Fleming. The boys U13 team of Patrick Brosnan (Captain), Stephen Casey, Brian O Connor, Colin McSwiney, Denis Buckley and Padraig Kerins were beaten by Tipperary 49/31. The boys U15 team also qualified to go to the Finals in Mosney. All the team were U14 and they have a great future ahead of them. The team was captained by Denis Keane and the other players were Padraig McCarthy, Shane Twomey, Gene Griffin, Gary O Connor and Tim Prendiville. Ballymacelligott handball Club.
