On St. Patrick's day the annual fun day for men and women took place. This event has proven to be a most enjoyable day for participants and spectators for the past few years and this year was no exception. The event was organised and directed by Pat McCarthy and it was a most enjoyable day. Many of the participants had not played for some time and showed all present that handball skills are alive and well in Ballymacelligott Parish. As usual Tom Roundy McEllistrim played and proved once again why he is known as "The Champ". The games organised were doubles and eventually after preliminary rounds the two finalist were known. Maurice McElligott and Billy Sullivan played Pat McCarthy and Tim McSwiney. All games were timed and eventually to add more excitement the two finalists were never more than two aces apart during the final. When the timer went both teams were even and it was decided to leave it at that. A warm thanks to Pat McCarthy who put so much work into the organisation of the day and hopefully it will be an Annual event for years to come.
