Girls Under 14 Munster final
Sandy McSwiney (Ballymacelligott) won the girls U14 Munster final last night when she beat Danielle O Connell from Tipperary 15/4, 15/9.The match was played in Tralee.
Waterford Crystals Nationals.
The World Championships in handball will take place in Chicago in October 2000. The Winners of the various age groups in the Waterford Crystals Nationals will represent Ireland in Chicago. The Irish finals will take place in Croke Park on the last weekend of April. The first round is being played this weekend and Gary O'Connor from Ballymacelligott played in Cappagh last night. Gary plays in the U15 age group and he beat Jer Coona of Tipperary 21/9, 10/21, and 5/11.
Padráig McCarthy is the second Kerry juvenile player to take part in the Waterford Crystal Nationals. Padráig from Ballymacelligott Handball Club got a walk over from Michael Allen from Cork at Cappagh , Co. Limerick on 25th March in the boys U15 age group. The Ballymacelligott player and his followers travelled to the County Limerick venue and were very disappointed that the Cork player did not turn up for the game as arranged.
