Maria Daly from Ballymacelligott Handball Club played in the Final of the United States National Junior Championship at 5.45pm (Irish Time) on 29th December.
The game was played in San Francisco Maria was playing in the Final against Courtney Peixoto, of Watsonville, California in the Girls 15 and under.
Maria beat her opponent 21/14, 21/20.
Maria beat Jeanine Wilson of Ajax, Ontario, Canada in the semi Finals the previous day.
This is a marvellous win for Maria and a great honour for the Club and County. Maria will be returning home on Friday 31st December.
