The Ladies All Ireland Doubles Minor Title came to Ballymacelligott this weekend for the first time. Sharon Daly and Tracey Buckley travelled to Kilkenny on Saturday last to play the game and played Aine and Patrice Lennon of Laois in the All Ireland Final. The two Kerry girls were very determined from the outset and never let their opponents in the lead throughout the match.
The final score was 21/13, 21/17.
It is the first All Ireland title for the Club for the new millennium.

Tim and Ashley Prendiville of Ballymacelligott Handball Club played in the Gael Linn Tournament in Kilkenny yesterday. The tournament is for a boy and girl team of U13.They played two players from Kilkenny in the Final and were very unlucky to lose by five points.
Four Juvenile singles players and one doubles team returned home from Conna, Co. Cork on Sunday the 5th March with three Munster titles and two runnereup medals. All the players were from the Ballymacelligott Club. It is a great achievement to reach a Munster Final and credit to Pat McCarthy for all the work he has done with the juveniles over the past weeks in preparing the players for the Finals.

U12 Singles Colin McSwiney was beaten by Adrian Mannix ( Cork) 15/8, 15/10.
U14 Singles: Padraig McCarthy was beaten ber Jer Coona (Tipperary) 15/13, 15/8. U14 Doubles: Shane Twomey and Gene Griffin beat Mark Fives and John Kendergan (Waterford) 15/3, 15/8.
U15 Singles: Gary O Connor beat Michael Brown (Waterford) 21/4, 21/14.
U16 Singles: Denis Casey beat Michael John Meaney (Tipperary) 21/20, 21/20.
