The Ballymacelligott Handball Club, representing Kerry, had two sets of Minor Doubles contesting the 60 X 30 Munster Finals on 27th July at the Ballymacelligott Courts. Clive and Jamie Counihan played Johnny Griffin and Paul McCarthy .The Counihan Brothers went on to win the Munster title but were beaten in Ballina, Co. Tipperary on 30th July in the All Ireland Semi- Final by Connaught opponents.
The first round of Munster Juvenile 60 X 30 Championships between Kerry and Cork was played in Ballymacelligott on 6/7/99. The Kerry representatives all from the Ballymacelligott Club won every match except for the U12 Doubles.
U12 Singles: Tim Prendiville (KY) beat Padraig Dineen (CK) 15/1, 15/2.
U12 Doubles: Patrick O Neill & (CK) beat Colin McSwiney & Denis Buckley (KY) 15/9, 4/15, 15/13. This was the most thrilling match of the night. The large attendance witnessed the high standard of handball displayed by the four players and Kerry was very unlucky to lose the match.
U13 Singles: Gary O Connor (KY) beat 15/0, 15/7.
U13 Doubles: Padraig McCarthy & Gene Griffin (KY) beat Thomas & Tom O Neill (CK) 15/0, 15/7.
U15 Doubles: Stephen McSwiney & Seamus Moriarty (KY) beat Joseph O Keeffe & Michael Murphy (CK) 21/4, 21,6.
