Ballymun Initiative for Third Level Education

BITE was established in 1990 to foster and advance the education of pupils in the Ballymun Comprehensive Schools.  Using financial and social support mechanisms, BITE encourages pupils at both primary and secondary level to consider further education.  The following activities are some of the ways through which BITE achieves this aim:

Primary Level

  • BITE/Hodges Figgis Book Awards

Second Level

  • Homework/Activity Clubs

  • Language Development Scholarship
  • RDS Youth Science and Arts Week
  • ECDL Scholarships
  • Scholarships (£200 - £400)

  • Information Nights for Parents and Pupils

  • PLC Scholarships (£500)

Of the 126 students who have received BITE scholarships at Third-Level, 81 have graduated.
