Enniskerry Village &
Powerscourt
No visit would be complete
without a trip to Enniskerry Village, annually rated as one of the most beautiful villages
in Ireland. The setting is preserved by the
surrounding hills and 
the natural valley within which the village resides. The present village came into being in the early
1820’s with the first school being built in 1823.
the landmark clock tower in the centre of the village was constructed in 1843 by
the Viscount Powerscourt.
Nearby is the famous Powerscourt
Estate and Gardens, a popular day trip for thousands of visitors each year. The gardens were laid out in Italian style in the
19th century. As well as the
gardens the estate boasts the highest waterfall in Ireland and the United Kingdom. The Powerscourt house has just been renovated and
re-opened to the public.
