| Allihies is an old copper mining village with the remains of the mines clearly visible. At one time the largest copper producing area in Europe. The village itself has a quaint, unspoilt traditional atmosphere, with many pubs and brightly painted shops which together create a very relaxing ambiance. There is often 'sessions' of Irish music in one or more of the pubs. |  |
