The Board of Management is the body responsible for the overall management of the school. The Board is nominated by the Patron, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kerry, recognised by the Minister for Education and Science and serves for a seven year term.
The membership of the board is as follows:
- Two direct nominees of the Patron (including the Chairperson or Manager).
- Two parents of children enrolled in the school (one being a mother and the other a father), elected by the general body of parents of children enrolled in the school.
- The Principal of the school.
- One other permanent teacher on the staff of the school, elected by the teaching staff.
- Two additional members proposed by the above nominees who shall have a commitment to the ethos of the school and the community/parish served by the school.
The Board manages the school under The Rules for National Schools, Department of Education and Science Circulars, and the C.P.S.M.A.'s Board of Management Members Handbook. The Board of Management's responsibilities include the maintenance of the school, budgeting and financial management, appointment of teachers and other staff, and the day to day management of the school through the Principal and Deputy Principal.
