Scoil an Chroí Ró-Naofa provides a Learning Support Service on a shared school basis. The central task is to provide pupils with levels of literacy and numeracy that will be adequate for further education and for their development as individuals.
The Learning Support Teacher takes individuals or groups for short periods. There is collaboration between the Class Teacher and Learning Support Teacher.
The Junior Classes are targeted for extra help in favour of other class levels. From September 1st 2000 pupils in Senior Infants will be identified if in need and standardised tests in English will be administered to all first class pupils. It is hoped that early intervention will assist pupils in need.
In recent years children deemed to be in need of attention are selected and parents of children are always consulted before withdrawal for extra help.
