Parent's Association

The Parents' Association of Scoil an Chroí Ró-Naofa was formed in September 1992. Since then its aim has been to assist in facilitating communication between school and home and to fund additional activities and equipment for the children.

It produces a newsletter each term which is distributed to all families by the school and this keeps parents informed of our activities and progress on any on-going projects

Its activities over the last few years have included:

  • Murals painted by the children with direction from professional artists
  • An Artist in Residence (Schools) scheme, partially funded by the Arts Council, which has introduced the children to traditional crafts from our area
  • Helping to fund and run swimming for First Class
  • Participation with the school in RSE Process
  • Buying additional playground equipment for the children
  • The provision of an adventure playground in the newly extended school
  • Fundraising to stock the school library

The Association holds its AGM in September each year when the committee and officers are elected. All parents are very welcome to attend and get involved, and as its officers can only stay in office for 2 years there is plenty of scope for participation.
