    CROAGH PATRICK: Ireland holy mountain has been a sacred place for 5,000 years. The most popular ascent is from Murrisk. Where there is also Cafe with shower and toilet facilities.

    BLUE FLAG BEACHES: Old head beach and Bertra beach are located about 12kms from Westport. A lifeguard is on duty durng the summer months. There is also a number of sandy beaches nearby and a beach famous to surfers Carrownisky.

    WESTPORT GOLF CLUB: The local club is a prestigous championship course, which has hosted the Irish Close Championship and the ladies home internationals. It is accomadating for the average player, while also providing a tough challenge for the low handicap golfer. It is beautifully situated on the shores of Clew Bay and has a well appointed clubhouse.

    SHORE ANGLING: There is excellent shore angling all around Clew Bay and enthusiasts will find opportunity in the immediate vicinity of kilsallagh, including: Old head pier, Lecanvy pier, Bertra strand, Roonagh quay.

    DELPHI ADVENTURE CENTRE, LEENANE: A nationally renowned activity centre, catering for adults and children, and offering an excellent range of activites, including-canoeing, sea kayaking, sailing, surfing, paddle-boating, wind-surfing, surf-skiing, abseiling, archery, cycling, hill-walking, mountaineering, biking, climbing and tennis.

    ATLANTIC ADVENTURE CENTRE, LECANVY: Catering for adults and children, and offering an excellent range of activites, including-canoeing, sea kayaking, sailing, surfing, paddle-boating, wind-surfing, surf-skiing, abseiling, archery, cycling, hill-walking, mountaineering, biking, climbing and tennis. Offers a selection of options, including half-day, day, weekend, mid-week and summer camps

    KNAPPABEAG STABLES, WESTPORT: A family run riding school with a large selection of horses and ponies to suit all ages and abilites.

    MUSEUM OF COUNTRY LIFE: The stunning new museum at Turlough, near Castlebar, is an essential visit. Housing the national folk life collection in a magnificant new building, the museum also incorpates the restored Turlough House and gardens, and there is a good cafe/restaurant and shop.
