Kilmainham Jail, that is! Fifth and Sixth Year History students from Beech Hill College were treated to a tour of Kilmainham Jail in Dublin recently. The keen historians were given the opportunity to view the cells where many of the leading figures in Irish History were detained. They also visited the yard where the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising were executed. They finished the day perusing the many unique exhibits in the adjoining museum. All involved found the experience to be both educational and highly interesting as they learned about the personal hardships experienced by many of our great politicians during their time in Kilmainham jail.
