ROTATING GOLF BALLS

Hooteye July 2011

This Tutorial will show you how to achieve the Rotating Golf Balls effect shown in the
below tag, as it is only a 4 Frame Animation, it should prove quick and easy to do

This Tutorial was wrote for PSP X but I have also tested it in PSP 9 and PSP 8

Any resemblance to any other tut on the web is purely coincidental

The animated effects shown in this Tutorial are achieved by using Bump Maps, for those who
are interested in seeing how to make a set of animated Bump Maps check out my Tutorial here

OK HERE WE GO.

( REMEMBER TO SAVE REGULARLY)

STEP (1)

Download the Golf Ball Bump Maps here

STEP (2)

Double click on the downloaded Golf Ball Bump Maps zip folder, extract the files and then copy
or move all the files to your Bump Maps Folder, usually found in My Documents/My PSP Files

menu appears click on Save Picture As, Save it to your Environment
Maps Folder, again usually found in My Documents/My PSP Files

Still on the Maps Tab click on the Bump Map drop-down list and select 1 GBM

NEXT

In the Balls and Bubbles Settings Box select the Maps Tab, click
on the Bump Map drop-down list, and select 2 GBM, then click OK

With the Grid Lines and Snap to Grid still on, go to your Document, and
where the Grid lines cross, click your little Eraser icon (once only) this
action will smoothly remove the centre of the Golf Balls on Rasher Layer 1

NOTE:- you do not need to click the exact centre of the grid lines, as the
influence of the "Snap To Grid" will proportionally erase from the exact centre

Your Document should now look similar to this

NEXT

Go to your Layer Palette and select Rasher 2 layer, click its Eye icon to
make it visible, go to your Document, again where the Grid lines cross, click
your little Eraser icon to smoothly remove the centre of the Golf Balls

NEXT

Carry out this Delete step to Rasher 3, and Rasher 4, Layers

That's it, we are done, all you need to do now is to take it
into Animation Shop, set the display times for all frames to 1
