The company was formed by Pat Nolan and Rebecca Roper in August 1992.
It's aim is to promote new Irish plays and revive international plays.
Our policy is to stage a rehearsed public readings of a new play
in the hopes of then mounting it as a full production.

All the plays that have received
their world premiere with Black Box
have begun production that way.
