The Dublin 15 Branch formerly known as the Blanchardstown/Mulhuddart branch was set up in 1987 to meet the needs of the Dublin 15 area. Since it opened it has been involved in a lot of different activities. At present there are 22 active members who attend training on a weekly basis on Wednesdays from 7:30pm to 9:30pm in the Blanchardstown Youth Service on Main Street Blanchardstown. Their ages range from 12 to over 50 years of age. Any one interested in joining is free to come down to see if they are interested and learn more about what we do.
The Dublin 15 branch organises many different activities. There have been many first aid courses organised for the local community and also for local employers. Unit members also provide first aid cover at trade fairs, concerts, discos, football matches and other community events. The unit has also recently acquired an ambulance which will increase the first aid duties that can be covered.
Competition Update
Dublin 15 Novice and Cadet team represented the Dublin Fingal Area in the National Competitions in Co. Laois on the 8th of October 2005. The Novice team consisting of Thomas Slattery as team leader with Anna FitzGerald, Kate FitzGerald and Jamie Gorman came in third which was an amazing achievement as none of the members had competed in National competitions before. The Cadet team lead by Kevin O'Brien with Michelle Ward, Bryony Hussey, and Sean Slattery came in Fifth in the much competed cadet team competition.
