About Our School
Ballylanders N.S. is a three teacher mixed school, situated
in a small village in south Limerick. We enjoy the services of
a learning support teacher shared with three other schools, a
part time resource teacher, one full time special needs assistant,
one part time special needs assistant and one part time secretary.
Courtesy of Fás we have the services of a caretaker who
keeps our school spick N span, also thanks to Fás we have
an Irish dance teacher who teaches figure dancing and sets once
a week.
School Garden
- Environmental awareness and appreciation
are high on the schools agenda. On going projects include can
recycling, developing & maintaining the school garden &
vegetable garden.
- Last year while some of our pupils
prepared a vegetable patch and planted potatoes, onions ,others
developed a school garden a rockery and herb garden.
We hope to continue with our projects this year.
- Last autumn we planted bulbs-in our
window boxes we look forward to a colourful spring display.
- A bird table has been erected in our
school garden-this allows us to identify our winter birds
- We enjoyed our gardening experience
last year-We earned ourselves 1st Prize-for new entrants in the
Garden Competition sponsored by the E.S.R.
