At
our Summer Concert 2003, the band celebrated both the young and
the mature members. We also celebrated the finishing of the redecorating
and refurbishing of the band hall.
Our
Junior Band made its second appearance in front of an audience
with tremendous success. Their programme
was well received and all agreed that the progress made by these
young people over the course of the previous six months was wonderful.
Thanks must go to the members of the senior band who give of their
time freely.
The
band also celebrated those who had givenlife time commitment to
the band. These people were honoured with a scroll of honorary
life membership to the band. The following people received the
scroll:
Frank Burke
Pat Phelan
James McCormack
Dom Crofton
Declan Hickey
Two
posthumous awards were also presented to the wives of John Olsthoorn
and Tony Stembridge, who sadly passed away a short time ago. May
they rest in peace.
The
band would like to thank all involved in making the summer concert
another success, celebrating our members and the bandhall. The
turnout shows that the band still has a strong following in the
community who enjoy and welcome the music of the Boherbuoy Brass
and Reed Band
